Terms of use

The rules for using Site Advice: free to read, provided as general information without warranty. Our original content is protected by copyright, but the ideas and methods it describes are free to use.

Last updated: 24 July 2026.

These terms apply when you use Site Advice (www.siteadvice.be, also reachable via its alias sitecheck.be). The site is operated by EUREGIO.NET AG ("we", "us") — full company and contact details are in the legal notice.

What Site Advice is

Site Advice is a free, informational website offering general guidance about building, hosting, securing and promoting websites.

It is general information, not professional, legal, financial or security advice tailored to your situation. Apply your own judgment and, where an error could have significant legal, financial or technical consequences, get advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

Accuracy and availability

We prepare the content in good faith and make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and useful. But the site and its content are provided free of charge on an "as is" and "as available" basis: we don't guarantee that every page is complete, error-free, continuously available, fully up to date, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Technology, legislation, security threats and recommended practice all change. Information that was correct when published may later need updating, or adapting to your circumstances.

Your use of the information

You remain responsible for deciding whether and how to apply the information here. Before making important changes to a website, server, domain name, DNS configuration, email system or security setup, verify that the steps are right for your environment and keep suitable backups and a way to roll back.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, EUREGIO.NET AG is not liable for loss or damage resulting from your reliance on, or use of, the general information on Site Advice — including losses arising from changes you make to your website, hosting, servers, domain names, DNS, email configuration or other systems.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is prohibited by law — including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to third-party websites, services or tools for reference or convenience. We don't control them and don't guarantee their content, security, availability, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not necessarily an endorsement. Review a third party's own terms and privacy information before using it.

Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the original text, illustrations, visual design and source code published as part of Site Advice are protected by copyright and belong to EUREGIO.NET AG (or are used with permission).

Copyright protects our original wording, presentation and creative material. It does not stop anyone from independently using the underlying facts, ideas, methods or general website practices the site describes.

You may:

  • read and apply the information for your own purposes;
  • share links to Site Advice pages;
  • quote reasonable short extracts with clear attribution to Site Advice and a link to the original page.

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

  • republish complete articles or substantial portions of the site;
  • reproduce or redistribute our illustrations as standalone material;
  • present our content as your own;
  • create a substantially copied version of the site or its content.

Nothing here limits uses expressly permitted by applicable copyright law.

Acceptable use

Don't use Site Advice unlawfully or in a way that interferes with the site or its infrastructure. In particular, don't:

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, server or related systems;
  • deliberately disrupt, overload or damage the service;
  • probe for vulnerabilities without prior permission;
  • use the contact or ebook forms to send spam, malicious or unlawful content;
  • use automated systems in a way that places an unreasonable load on the site or republishes substantial portions of its content.

Normal browser access, search-engine indexing, and other lawful, proportionate uses are fine.

Privacy

How we handle personal data is explained in the privacy policy; cookies and browser storage are covered in the cookie policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Belgian law. This choice of law does not deprive consumers of the mandatory rights and protections that apply under the law of their country of residence.

Disputes will be submitted to the courts that have jurisdiction under the applicable Belgian and European rules. Nothing here restricts a consumer's right to bring proceedings before another court where mandatory law provides for it.

Changes

We may update these terms when the site, its content, or the applicable legal requirements change. The "last updated" date above shows when the current version took effect; changes apply from the date they're published and don't retroactively alter rights or obligations that arose before then.
