Jochen “Joe” Savelberg

Jochen has been hooked on technology since he wrote his first database in BASIC at nine. He has built for the web professionally since 1995 — more than three decades.

That year he co-founded the first ISP in Belgium’s German-speaking community. It became the market leader, and he built and ran its server infrastructure and interactive sites — launching an online entertainment network in 1996 that reached millions. The work brought conference invitations across Europe and the United States, and a handful of awards along the way.

Since 2019 he has also served on the board of the MSVO — the Mittelstand (SME) association of Belgium's German-speaking Community.

Today he runs euregio.net, helping small businesses register domains, host and speed up their sites, tighten email deliverability and keep spam out. Site Advice distils that hands-on experience into 50 plain-language checks and a growing set of guides.
